Biography
Yuwei Yang has studied violin since she was a child, and because of her love to music and performance, she decided to become a professional violinist.
In the 2019 Art College Entrance Season, Yuwei achieved the first place in violin major of China University of Petroleum, and obtained the fourth place in the Violin Major of Musical Performance Department in Ocean University of China.
Yuwei majored in music performance graduated from Ocean University of China for undergraduate. She used to guide by Kevork Mardirossian, the James H.Rudy Professor of Music at Indiana University; Xiaoyu Yang, concertmaster of National Centre for the Performance Arts Orchestra in China; Liang Chai, famous violinist in China; Yun Chen, who used to be Concertmaster of the China Philharmonic Orchestra.
Yuwei is now studying Master Degree at Royal Birmingham Conservatoire in the United Kingdom, studying violin performance in postgraduate second year. Learning with Ivo Stankov, one of Bulgaria's leading and most versatile artists of his generation.
At the same time, she is playing side-by-side with Tim Smedley in Quartet. Yuwei guided by Tim Smedley, head of the Chamber Music Department in Royal Birmingham Conservatoire; Nicholas Trygstad, head of the String Department in Royal Birmingham Conservatoire in music performance filed. She also guided by Tasmin Little, famous English Classical Violinist. Been studying with Professor William Li so far. Through continuous studying and hard-working, she wants to gain further studying on musical literacy and Violin Performance.
In addition to being a violinist, Yuwei's personal ability is outstanding. From primary school to junior high school, Yuwei has been serving as the class president. Yuwei grew up in the top of the class, all-round development, she is also good at calligraphy, math learning; junior high school math won the first prize of the Qingdao Mathematical Olympiad, has a calligraphy examination grade 8 certificate.
During the time Yuwei studying in UK, she strive for opportunities to perform and cooperate with other famous performers and orchestra positively. Yuwei will always keep moving and work hard to achieve her ambitions!

2020 Participated in the Qingdao New Year Concert
2021 Participated in the Welcome Concert of Ocean University of China
2021 Participated in the Ocean University of China Symphony Orchestra and successfully performed in the Cultural Evening Concert to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Party of China.
2022 NewYear’s Day Participated in the New Year Concert of Ocean University of China.
2023 Successfully held "Summer Strings" personal undergraduate graduation concert in Ocean University of China

Postgraduate studies period in UK
2023 Participated as an assistant in the International Violin Music Festival in Italy, and made successful formal concert presentations in the church of Pienza.
2024 In April, GaoPing, a renowned Chinese composer and pianist, was invited to visit RBC for an annual academic exchange.During this period, Gaoping collaborate with RBC students in chamber orchestra and perform together in GaoPing’s Concert.
Yuwei was honored to be the Concertmaster of the entire Chamber Orchestra in this concert.
2024 August 2024-present Establish constant collaboration with Esther Abrami, the famous young French violinist.
2024 August Successfully held “Viviolin” Recital in Qingdao
2025 Played with Castalian Quartet, was coached by Castalian Quartet Second Violin Daniel Roberts, and was praised by him for the beautiful melody of "Mendelssohn Violin Concerto".
2025 Yuwei’s quartet coached by Kuss Quartet Cello Mikayel Hakhnazaryan.
2025 Yuwei played with Villiers Quartet and coached by Villiers Quartet Secoond Violin Tamaki Higashi
From 2024 to 2025, Yuwei constantly having master class and guiding by Tasmin Little.
From 2024 to 2025, Yuwei internship in Birmingham Philharmanic Orchestra, traveled with BPO to perform across the UK, including Bradshaw Hall, Royal Birmingham Conservatoire; Cider mill Theatre, Chipping Campden; St Mary’s Church, Cleobury Mortimer and Pershore Abbey.
